For Your House
Considering the numerous sunny days in Spain, you can easily cover more than 50% of your electricity consumption with solar energy. Solar panels can be installed on the roof of your house, garage or parking area (solar carport). By adding batteries to your solar energy system, you can even cover more than 70% of your consumption with solar energy.
Here are the steps to produce your own electricity and protect yourself against rising electricity prices:
- Consultation & Evaluation: as the first step, we consult you about the feasibility of a solar installation. We analyze your annual energy consumption to check if a solar installation is suitable for you or not. All we need is your latest electricity bills (or the expected future consumption if you do not have electricity bills yet) and the geographical information of the installation site (for example, your house address). For this step, you can also request a FREE ON-SITE CONSULTATION or a phone call.
- Offer & Decision: having in hand the results of the analysis (which is the offer including the financial and environmental benefits), you can decide to proceed further with the solar installation or not. If you find our offer suitable and feasible, you will send us the signed offer back.
- Financing: you can finance the solar system yourself or through a bank. If you choose bank financing, we prepare the required documents (technical information and financial analysis) to facilitate the loan application process.
- Construction Licence: we apply on your behalf for the construction licence (licencia de obra). The cost (tax) of the construction licence is between 2% and 4.5% of the material cost (excluding VAT) which should be paid to your city hall. This tax is variable and therefore, not included in our offers.
- Installation: after paying the tax for the construction licence, we start the installation of your solar energy system with high-quality equipment.
- Legalization: after installing the system, we register your system with Junta de Andalucia. After the registration, if you have surplus (unused) solar electricity during the day, you can feed it into the grid. Then, your electricity provider compensates you monthly for the fed-in electricity (the compensation is calculated by the electricity market price). Therefore, your grid-electricity consumption bill (energia consumida) will be reduced and can even fall to zero. We provide you the required documents to send to your electricity provider to receive the compensation. This step depends on the electricity provider and also Endesa’s document processing time could take up to 12-18 months.
- Generation: now you can enjoy free electricity for more than 25 years and reduce your environmental footprint.
- Maintenance and Support: we also support you after the installation. In this step after signing the Maintenance and Support (M&S) contract, we monitor your system throughout the year for any possible fault. We also send a technician once per year to check the system on-site to see if everything is working correctly.

ROI Sample
In the following table, the approximate Return on Investment (ROI) for three different scenarios have been calculated.
These systems have the same:
– number of solar panels (13 panels)
– total annual consumption (15.000kWh which is the average consumption for aprivate house in Spain).
– electricity tariff (free market price)
But these systems have different:
– daily electricty consumption pattern (the amount consumed during different P1, P2, or P3 zones as shown in the table)
– initial investment (with or without battery)
As you can see from the table, the ROI varies between 4,3 (without battery) to 6.2 years (with battery).
For Your Business
Considering numerous sunny days and high solar irradiance (sunshine power per square meter) in Spain, running your winery, school, office complex, or factory with solar power is highly profitable. You can use electricity from the installed solar panels at your site with a price of ca. 0.05€/kWh in peak time when the electricity price is up to 0.14€/kWh. Yes, you read correctly: solar electricity is up to three times cheaper than grid electricity. Besides, using solar energy promotes you as a green and environmentally friendly business. Depending on your consumption pattern and amount, we have different solutions to empower your business with solar energy. Contact us to get a free consultation.
We will assist you to make the right decision step by step:
- Feasibility Study: our journey together starts with a feasibility study of the solar installation for your business. We analyze your annual energy consumption and the consumption pattern (how you use electricity during the different hours, days, and months), to check if a solar installation is feasible for you or not. All we need is your latest electricity bills, the geographical information of the installation site (for example your factory address), and information about your consumption patterns (e.g. at what time you run the machines or servers).
- You Decide: having on hand the analysis results of the solar installation for your business (including the financial and environmental benefits), you can whether decide to proceed further with solar installation or not. With your approval, we continue to the next step.
- Financing: we advise you and help you to choose one of the following 4 financing options for your project. 1) self-financing. 2) financing through a bank. In the case of bank financing, we prepare the required documents (technical information and financial analysis) to facilitate the loan application process. 3) if your business matches our criteria, we give you a solar installation with zero investment and zero-risk, through a power purchase agreement (PPA, more info). 4) if you want to finance your project with a non-financial institute, we provide a crowdfunding option.
- Realization: after financing your project, we design, engineer, and realize your solar power system installation. For our solar projects, we use equipment manufactured in the EU.
- Legalization: finally, we register your solar installation with your electricity provider (such as Endesa, Iberdrola, etc.) as it is mandatory for grid-connected solar installations in Spain. After the registration, if you have surplus (unused) solar electricity during the day, you can feed it into the grid. Your electricity provider compensates for the fed-in electricity your next electricity bill (calculated by the electricity market price). Therefore, your electricity consumption bill (energia consumida) will be reduced or even fall to zero.
- Generation: now you can enjoy free electricity for more than 25 years and reduce your environmental foorprint.
- Maintenance and Support: we also support you after the installation. In this step after signing the Maintenance and Support (M&S) contract, we monitor your system throughout the year for any possible fault. We also send a technician once per year to check the system on-site to see if everything is working correctly.

Charging Station
We install electric car charging stations for the home, company, and public use. Please note that the charging station functions with and without a solar panel system:
1) If you don´t have a solar system, you can install a charging station and use the electricity from the public grid.
2) If you have a solar system installed, you can charge the car with solar energy or the energy from the public grid (on a day with little sunshine, for example).
In any of the two cases, we give you a brief training on how to use the mobile app connected to your electric car charger- it makes everyday charging cheaper and easier.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to pay ”solar tax” (impuesto al sol) if I produce solar energy in Spain?
No, not anymore. The notorious sun tax was removed in 2018 by the government through Royal Decree-Law 15/2018. To promote the solar energy, a series of reforms were added, such as:
– compensation for surplus energy fed into the grid
– property tax (IBI) discounts for buildings with solar installations
– the possibility of connecting several people to the same installation, also known as community solar
– for off-grid and small grid-connected solar installations, a permit from the electricity company is not required.
How much do I receive for putting back electricity from solar installation in to the grid?
The price depends on the type of tariff (free-market or fixed) and also your electricity provider.
- For the fixed tariff you will receive normally between 0.05€/kWh to 0.10€/kWh.
- For the market price tariff (PVPC), you will receive the market hourly price tariff, defined every morning at 08:00 AM. The average price would be between 0.14€/kWh to 0.19€/kWh
Do solar panels need a lot of maintenance?
No, all you are recommended to do is simply clean the panels with water when they get very dusty or covered with pollen. Cleaning four times per year prolongs their 25+ year lifetime and increases daily energy yields.
However, we recommend a yearly maintenance and support contract. With this contract, we check your system annually to avoid any possibility of production reduction. We also monitor your system remotely for any fault.
Is there any state support available?
Depending on the municipality, various grants and tax rebates are available for renewable energy solutions, covering the costs of solar photovoltaic systems, electric car chargers, battery storage, and more. As a member of the Andalusian Energy Agency (Agencia Andaluza de la Energia) and the Spanish Solar Photovoltaic Association (UNEF), we can apply for the grants on your behalf and/or provide you with the newest information on the support available.
